Sunday 28 November will be the beginning of renting out the first 59 new homes in Fyrkanten

Sunday 28 November will be the beginning of renting out the 59 new homes in Fyrkanten, the first completed residential property in the ambitious new district of Høje Taastrup C.

Fyrkanten comprises 107 apartments, of which the first 59 are expected to be ready for move-in on 1 May 2022. The apartments range from 2-4 rooms of 60-105 m2, and all have a balcony or terrace. The real estate company responsible for Fyrkanten, Balder Danmark, are proud of the property:

A milestone for Høje Taastrup's new centre

When Fyrkanten welcomes the first residents, this will be a significant milestone for the new district Høje Taastrup C, which has been many years in the making. The development plan involves transforming an area the size of 40 football pitches into a vibrant district. There will be housing for 4,000 new residents and workspaces for 4,000 employees in the companies that move here. And it is an ambitious project, says Lars Bloch, CEO of Arealudviklingsselskabet Høje Taastrup C:

"Høje Taastrup C is more than an urban plan – it is the beginning of a transformation of Høje Taastrup to become a more cohesive, attractive, and sustainable city."

He highlights the dynamics created in the district through a mix of housing, businesses, shops, restaurants – and the new park Åbenheden, which has just been inaugurated.

And Fyrkanten has a unique location in relation to Åbenheden – it is the only one of the district's residential properties with two sides facing the newly opened park street.

Lars Bloch is looking forward to welcoming the first residents, particularly the fact that they can use the park.

"It is wonderful that the new residents can use the park and help influence the city life, that we will create together in Høje Taastrup C."

 

Balder considers Høje Taastrup C an attractive and visionary area

Balder shares Lars Bloch's vision for Høje Taastrup C, and Fyrkanten is the first of Balder's two residential properties in the district. Soon follows the sister property Rubinhaven, which is located three building blocks further down the park area. And if you ask the CEO of Balder Danmark, Flemming Joseph Jensen, the district is a perfect match for Balder:

"There are many exciting initiatives in the new district, and we, therefore, see plenty of potential in contributing to this development. Our properties have room for all ages and forms of housing, and here you get the best conditions to live an easy everyday life with lots of quality of life, security, and community. With our two properties, we want to attract citizens of all ages to the district, thereby contributing to the development of the area," he says.

And Balder's involvement in the area actually extends to the entire municipality. Balder has three more properties, the completed Agerhusene on Skjebjerg Allé and Lerholmen in the new, sustainable district Nærheden, and Lynghaven in the same area where the first residents have only just moved in. Balder has experienced a great interest in the properties in the municipality, all of which have been rented out quickly. And Flemming Joseph Jensen is not surprised:

"We focus on the fact that our properties have a location close to the municipality's many workplaces, a vibrant city life, good shopping opportunities, green spaces, good infrastructure, and then you live close to Copenhagen. All these are qualities that our tenants demand," he says.

 

More than a dwelling

In addition to the unique location on the first row to the city park, Fyrkanten offers a great asset: a large, shared roof terrace. From here, the property's residents get views of the town hall, the city park, and most of Høje Taastrup – and more still, says Tore Dahl Iversen:

"We consider the roof terrace to be of excellent value to our future tenants, who with the roof terrace will get a supplement to their balcony or terrace, the city park, and the courtyard in the building block. There will also be a greenhouse on the roof terrace that allows you to spend time there even when the weather is not cooperating."

In addition to extra outdoor space, the idea is also that the roof terrace will help create a breeding ground for neighbourhood and community among the property's residents. That is something Balder is actively working on.

"In Balder, we want to make an extra effort to keep residents connected to the extent they want. We can achieve this by frequently hosting events and taking initiatives, but also by creating the physical conditions, in the form of, e.g., inviting roof terraces. In our experience, it is something our residents greatly appreciates," says Tore Dahl Iversen.

Another area where Balder has made an extra effort with Fyrkanten is sustainability. This is something that has been considered from the very beginning, says Tore Dahl Iversen:

"Fyrkanten is developed based on the high requirements of the internationally recognised sustainability certification DGNB, where we expect to get a gold certificate. We have chosen DGNB as a benchmark because it is a holistic approach to sustainability, where both environmental, economic and social sustainability is considered," he says.

 

Rental start

Access to rent at Fyrkanten opens on Sunday, 28 November. There will be an open house event between 1 and 2 p.m. where interested parties can view the prototype apartment and book an apartment.

The prototype apartment is located at Rønnebygade 24, 1. th., 2630 Taastrup. Since the address is not yet available in most GPS units, you can instead enter the location of Copenhagen Designer Outlet, Cityringen 6, 2630 Taastrup.
