Balder has acquired a building site centrally in Hillerød, approx. 30 km north of Copenhagen. The planning is in progress and already by 2020, the 127 new rental apartments are expected to be completed. "Carlsbakken", which the property is called, thus becomes Balder's first Danish property outside the Copenhagen area.

The property is being built in the new district, The Station zone, which, besides being right by Hillerød station, is also within walking distance of both the shopping center, SlotsArkaderne, and Frederiksborg Castle. The district will further accommodate North Zealand's new campus area and is expected to be transformed into a visionary inspiring urban environment with life and pulse, where people meet and exchange ideas and knowledge.

The construction will begin in the autumn of 2018 and is expected to be completed by mid-2020. However, the first tenants are expected to be able to move into the first stage at the beginning of 2020. The finished property will consist of a triangular block of 3-5 floors with rounded corners and in varying height. Altogether, the property will be 10,650 square meters of living space, where the apartments, due to the shape of the property, will vary greatly in their design and size. From 2 rooms of 50 sqm to 4 rooms of 110 sqm. There will be access to terraces or balconies from virtually every apartments, and there will also be a communal roof top terrace and courtyard environment.
